Haslam Announces Transportation Grant for Bolivar

New lighting and sidewalks to come to portions of Courthouse Square

BOLIVAR – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) Commissioner John Schroer today announced a $305,120 transportation enhancement grant to Bolivar to fund new lighting and sidewalks around Courthouse Square.

The project is Phase III of the Pedestrian Walkway Project and is located on the perimeter of the Courthouse Square in Bolivar. It will complement the previous projects by adding decorative pedestrian lighting along the sidewalks on North Main Street (SR 18).

Funding to provide new sidewalks and enhance historic district

SAVANNAH – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) Commissioner John Schroer today announced a $478,938 transportation enhancement grant for Savannah to replace sidewalks and make other improvements to a historic district.

The project is located on Williams, Deford, and Guinn Streets, an area that has been designated as a National Historic Register Historic District.

New Tennessee Regulatory Authority Takes Form

Executive director, two directors appointed to reconfigured TRA
 
NASHVILLE – The newly reconfigured Tennessee Regulatory Authority (TRA) has its first full-time executive director and two new part-time directors after Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam’s reforms were passed during this year’s legislative session.
 
Haslam worked with Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey (R-Blountville) and House Speaker Beth Harwell (R-Nashville) on the joint appointments of business executive Earl Taylor as executive director and utility industry veteran James Allison as a director.

Grants for Wolf River Greenway, Highway 61 Blues Trail and Walker Avenue Streetscape
 
MEMPHIS
– Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) Commissioner John Schroer today announced three transportation enhancement grants to the city of Memphis totaling nearly $1.5 million.
 
The grants will provide $666,523 to fund Phase 4 of the Wolf River Greenway, $285,944 to the Highway 61 Blues Trail, and $529,436 to the first phase of the Walker Avenue Streetscape project.

Haslam Announces Grant for Downtown Dickson

$627,782 to improve pedestrian experience downtown
 
DICKSON – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) Commissioner John Schroer today announced a grant of more than $620,000 to improve the pedestrian experience in downtown Dickson.
 
The Transportation Enhancement grant is $627,782 and will go toward Phase II of the Downtown Improvement Project, located on Main Street (State Route 48) from Railroad Street to East Walnut Street.

17th Judicial District includes Lincoln, Bedford, Marshall and Moore counties

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam today announced Robert Carter as the District Attorney General to the 17th Judicial District, which includes Lincoln, Bedford, Marshall and Moore counties.

Carter will replace current 17th Judicial District Attorney General Charles Crawford, who is resigning effective July 31.

More than $592,000 to replace old sidewalks and add new ones, other enhancements

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) Commissioner John Schroer today announced a $592,017 grant to Lobelville to improve the pedestrian experience in its town center.

The Downtown Improvement Project in Lobelville focuses on Main Street and within the core of downtown by replacing current curb and sidewalks and adding new sidewalks. Shade trees and decorative lighting will also be added between Fourth and Fifth Streets, connecting the City Hall with the City Fire Station. 

Haslam Announces Grant for Linden Improvement Project

More than $446,000 for downtown project in Linden

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) Commissioner John Schroer today announced the award of a $446,419 grant for Linden to replace existing storm drainage, curbing and sidewalks along a portion of Main Street.

Phase III of the Downtown Improvement Project will connect and extend west along Main Street (Highway 100/SR 412) as a continuation of the Phase II project, which is nearing the construction phase.
