Second Manufacturing Facility Anticipated to Create up to 125 Jobs in Sullivan County

Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty along with company officials today announced Bell Helicopter, Inc. will expand its Piney Flats facility. This announcement represents an investment of $10.1 million and is anticipated to create up to 125 new jobs at the company’s completion and customer delivery facility.

Company to Build First North American Manufacturing Facility, Create 178 Jobs

NASHVILLE  —  Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty along with company officials announced today Ceramica Del Conca will build its first North American manufacturing facility in Loudon. The announcement by the Italian ceramic floor tile manufacturer represents a $70 million investment and will create 178 new manufacturing jobs in Loudon County.

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty along with officials from General Products Partners Inc. announced today the company will establish a manufacturing facility in Fayetteville. The $6.5 million investment by the aerospace and defense components manufacturer and will create 100 new jobs in Lincoln County.

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam has appointed Lila Statom of Chattanooga as General Sessions Court Judge in Hamilton County.
 
Statom replaces Ronald W. Durby, who stepped down from the bench October 1, 2012 due to a disability. Durby requested a temporary replacement in accordance with Tenn. Code Ann.§ 17-2-116(a)(1).

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty along with officials from Teledyne Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) announced today the company will expand its Lewisburg manufacturing facility to accommodate a new product line. The expansion is a $9.78 million investment by the company and will create 96 new jobs at the Marshall County facility.

Decision on Affordable Care Act made after thoughtful consideration

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam announced Monday the state will not operate a state-based healthcare exchange under the federal Affordable Care Act. Haslam made the following statement on the issue:

“Tennessee faces a decision this week about health insurance exchanges created by the Affordable Care Act.

“I'm not a fan of the law.  The more I know, the more harmful I think it will be for small businesses and costly for state governments and the federal government.  It does nothing to address the cost of health care in our country.  It only expands a broken system.  That’s why I’ve opposed it from the beginning and had hoped we would be successful in court and at the ballot box this year.

Logistics Company to Create 450 Jobs in Chattanooga, 100 Jobs in Knoxville Over Five Years

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Gov.
