Interstate Construction Report for December 1-7, 2011

TDOT Maintenance,

  • DAVIDSON COUNTY: Thursday December 1 through Wednesday December 7, (excluding weekends), 9AM-3PM, There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Davidson County in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.   
  • MONTGOMERY and ROBERTSON COUNTIES: Thursday December 1 through Wednesday December 7, (excluding weekends), 9AM-12PM,  There will be one lane periodically closed on I-24 in both directions in Montgomery and Robertson Counties to move equipment between mile marker 25 and mile marker 14 in order to trim vegetation overhanging the roadway.  One lane will remain open.  This is between exit 24 (SR-49/Springfield and Ashland City) and exit 11 (SR-76/Adams-Clarksville).

  • Thursday December 1 through December 7: No closures scheduled.
 
DAVIDSON COUNTY, Repair of 14 Bridges over I-440
  • Monday December 5 through Wednesday December 7, 9AM-3PM, There will be shoulder closures on I-440 eastbound at Acklen Park Bridge for bridge work. There will also be a lane shift on the Acklen Park Bridge for sidewalk repair.
 

Weekly Construction Report for Parts of East and Middle Tennessee for December 1-7, 2011

BLEDSOE COUNTY, SR 101 (Lantana Road) bridge repair project over Beaver Dam Creek (LM 6.39): Work on Phase 1 of this project has begun, and traffic has been shifted from the westbound to the eastbound lane.  The bridge has been reduced to one 10’ travel lane, and it is being maintained and controlled by a temporary signal for the safety of the traveling public. Estimated project completion date is September 2012. 

BRADLEY COUNTY, SR-60 (Dalton Pike) road widening from near Gilliland Road to U.S. 64 (SR-311): The contractor continues work on the project. Warning signs are posted and flaggers will be present to assist with traffic control. Estimated project completion date is June 2012.

BLOUNT COUNTY, TN-73 Scenic (East Lamar Alexander Parkway) at Stables Drive in Townsend:East Lamar Alexander Parkway (TN 73-Scenic) at Stables Drive, near the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, in Townsend will be reduced to one lane controlled by a temporary traffic signal at various times for the bridge construction project on Stables Drive. Traffic on Stables Drive is also being controlled by a temporary traffic signal.  Two travel lanes will be open on Scenic 73 during periods when the contractor is not present and during times when work activities are being performed on the opposite side of the Little River that do not require additional space alongside the roadway. The temporary traffic signals that are currently in place will be set to a cautionary flash during times that both lanes are available for travel. When the lane restriction is in place, the traffic signals will be activated to control the traffic movement one direction at a time. Motorists in this area should be alert for changing conditions, expect potential delays and use extreme caution in this area. 
 
CAMPBELL COUNTY, I-75 South near Mile Marker 144.4:On Sunday night, December 4, 2011, motorists should be alert for a possible lane closure between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews perform guardrail repairs. Motorists should be alert for workers present and use caution in this area.

Wednesday November 30 through Wednesday December 7, State Route 436 between State Route 77 (US 70A) (Reedy Creek Rd.) and State Route 76 (S. Highland Dr.) is CLOSED for a bridge replacement project. A detour route is posted.
 
DYER COUNTY, STATE ROUTE 211Bridge repair work on State Route 211 at log mile 6.04 will cause a reduction in lanes from two to one lane every day. Northbound lanes for Phase 1 construction are closed and a temporary traffic signal is in place.

  • Monday November 28 through Wednesday November 28, 8PM-5AM, There will be one lane closed in each direction on the Victory Memorial Bridge on James Robertson Pkwy. in order to install bridge drains and bike grates.

MONTGOMERY and ROBERTSON COUNTIES, TDOT Maintenance: Thursday November 17 through Wednesday November 23, (excluding weekends), 9AM-12PM,  There will be one lane periodically closed on I-24 in both directions in Montgomery and Robertson Counties to move equipment between mile marker 25 and mile marker 12 in order to trim vegetation overhanging the roadway.  One lane will remain open.  This is between exit 24 (SR-49/Springfield and Ashland City) and exit 11 (SR-76/Adams-Clarksville).


DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:

  • Thursday November 17, 8PM-3AM, The left lane will be closed on I-24 eastbound between mile marker 47 and mile marker 50 for drain cleaning.  Three lanes will remain open.
  • Thursday November 17, 8PM-3AM, The right lane will be closed on I-24 eastbound between mile marker 54 and mile marker 56 for milling and paving.  Two lanes will remain open.


MARION COUNTY, I-24 at Exit 152 construction of a concrete Bulb-Tee beam bridge on U.S. 72 (SR-27) including grading, drainage, and paving:  The contractor continues work on the bridge.  Any interstate lane closures on I-24 will be at nighttime between 6PM-6AM.  Flaggers and THP will assist with traffic control as needed.  Estimated project completion date is September 2012. 


HAMILTON COUNTY, I-24 resurfacing beginning west of Chattanooga Creek (LM 6.18 / MM 177) to near Crest Rd. (LM 11.35 / MM 183), including bridge deck repair:  The contractor has completed all contract items.  The contractor may need either one lane or two lanes closed (only 10PM-5AM) to address punchlist items.  At least one lane of traffic will be maintained at all times.  THP will assist with traffic control.  Estimated project completion date is November 2011.
