Weekly Construction Report for Parts of East and Middle Tennessee for June 26 - July 2, 2014

BRADLEY COUNTY, I-75 construction of a concrete Bulb-Tee Beam Bridge, including grading, drainage and paving at the Exit 20 interchange (U.S. 64 Bypass East, U.S. 74 East, SR-311, APD-40) (LM 4.86) in Cleveland:  Work continues on this project.  The contractor will be working on clearing and drainage and doing bridge work during this report period.  Any work requiring interstate lane closures is limited to Sunday through Thursday nights between 7PM - 6AM.  Signs will be posted and flaggers will assist with traffic control if needed.  THP will assist with traffic control as necessary during interstate lane closures.  Estimated project completion date is November 2015.

BENTON COUNTY,I-40 over the Tennessee River
Monday June 30, 9:00 a.m-3:00 p.m.: 
There will be temporary lane closures I-40 eastbound & westbound at Cuba Landing, for bridge inspection.  THP will assist with traffic control.  Weather Permitting.

BENTON COUNTY, SR-191 over I-40:
Wednesday June 18 through Wednesday June 25:
  There could be possible intermittent lane closures on State Route 191 for bridge repair work.

Friday May 23:  I-40 overhead bridge at mile marker 133.0 (State Route 191) was opened to traffic.

Friday June 27, 8:00 p. m. through Monday June 30, 6:00 a. m.:  There will be temporary lane closures on I-40 eastbound and westbound at mile marker 133.0, for the installation of pavement markings.  THP will assist with traffic control.  Weather Permitting.

Monday June 30 through Wednesday July 2, 8:00 p. m-6:00 a. m.:  There will be temporary lane closures on I-40 eastbound and westbound at mile marker 133.0, for the installation of pavement markings.  THP will assist with traffic control.  Weather Permitting.

CARROLL COUNTY, SR-105:  Resurfacing work will cause temporary lane closures in both directions daily, from the Gibson County line to State Route 190.

CARROLL COUNTY, SR-424:  Bridge Replacement on State Route 424 over an overflow and the Big Sandy River.  Wednesday June 25 through Wednesday July 2:  A signal system is being utilized and will reduce traffic to one lane with a 10’ lane restriction.

CARROLL COUNTY, SR-424:  Bridge Replacement on State Route 424 over the Rutherford Fork Obion River and overflows.  Wednesday June 25 through Wednesday July 2:  A signal system is being utilized and will reduce traffic to one lane with a 9.5’ lane restriction.

CHESTER COUNTY, SR-22:  Bridge Repair on State Route 22 over Dry Creek at the intersection of Willis Road.  A signal system is active with lights flashing yellow.  Roadway is opened to traffic.

CROCKETT/GIBSON COUNTY, SR-188:  Construction of five (5) concrete box beam bridges on State Route 188 at the Crockett/Gibson County line.  The roadway is CLOSED with a detour route posted.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, Bridge Repair on I-65 over CSX Railroad, Rivergate Pkwy, Long Hollow Pike, E Cedar Street, & Mansker Creek

  • Thursday June 26, Monday June 30 and Tuesday July 1, 8PM-6AM, There will be lane closures on I-65 southbound, between MM 96 and MM 99, on the inside lanes, for bridge repair.
  • Friday June 27, 8PM through Monday June 30, 6AM, There will be lane closures I-65 southbound, between MM 96 and MM 99, so that bridge deck sealing and paving may be done. 
  • Wednesday July 2, 8PM-12AM, There will be lane closures on I-65 southbound, between MM 96 and MM 99, on the inside lanes, for bridge repair.

ANDERSON COUNTY, SR 116 to SR 330 in Campbell County: Motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. as crews perform work through this safety improvement project.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution in this area.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, Bridge Repair on I-65 over CSX Railroad, Rivergate Pkwy, Long Hollow Pike, E Cedar Street, & Mansker Creek

  • Thursday June 19 and Monday June 23 through Wednesday June 25, 8PM-6AM, There will be lane closures between MM 96 and MM 99 in the southbound lanes so that milling may be done.
  • Friday June 20 8PM through Monday June 23 6AM, There will be lane closures between MM 96 and MM 99 in the southbound lanes for bridge deck repair.

DECATUR COUNTY, SR-202:  Resurfacing work will cause temporary lane closures in both directions daily, from State Route 69 to State Route 114.

I-65 South Reduced to One Lane North of Nashville for Weekend Work

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Department of Transportation contract crews will close two lanes of travel on I-65 South on the north side of Nashville this weekend for bridge repair work. The work zone will extend from mile markers 95 to 98, northbound and southbound. The work is scheduled as follows:


• Friday, June 20 at 8:00 p.m. through Monday, June 23 at 6:00 a.m., there will be lane closures on I-65 southbound in order to begin bridge repairs at the Mansker Creek, East Cedar Street, Long Hollow Pike, Rivergate Parkway, and CSX railroad bridges. One lane will remain open from Mansker Creek to Rivergate Parkway.  Two lanes will remain open from Rivergate Parkway to CSX railroad.
