Weekly Construction Report for Parts of East and Middle Tennessee for August 14 - August 20, 2014

BRADLEY COUNTY, I-75 construction of a concrete Bulb-Tee Beam Bridge, including grading, drainage and paving at the Exit 20 interchange (U.S. 64 Bypass East, U.S. 74 East, SR-311, APD-40) (LM 4.86) in Cleveland:  Work continues on this project.  Traffic has been shifted to the new temporary alignment at the I-75 southbound exit ramp and onto the first phase of the new bridge over I-75.  During this report period, the contractor will begin nighttime demolition operations on the original bridge over I-75.  These will begin after 9:30PM and end by 6AM.  When necessary, they will detour traffic using the ramps while spans over the interstate are lifted with a crane.  They will continue this work during the allowed nighttime hours until the old superstructure has been entirely removed.  Additionally, the contractor will be working on clearing and drainage

ANDERSON COUNTY, I-75 South near Mile Marker 119.8: On Sunday, August 17, 2014, motorists should be alert for a possible lane closure between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews perform guardrail repairs.  Motorists should be alert for workers present, expect potential delays and use extreme caution in this area.

BRADLEY COUNTY, I-75 construction of a concrete Bulb-Tee Beam Bridge, including grading, drainage and paving at the Exit 20 interchange (U.S. 64 Bypass East, U.S. 74 East, SR-311, APD-40) (LM 4.86) in Cleveland:  Work continues on this project.  Traffic has been shifted to the new temporary alignment at the I-75 southbound exit ramp and onto the first phase of the new bridge over I-75.  During this report period, the contractor will begin nighttime demolition operations on the original bridge over I-75.  These operations will take place between the hours of 10PM and 6AM and will require temporary closures of I-75 in the area.  They are tentatively scheduled to work over I-75 North on the evenings of Monday, August 11; Wednesday, August 20; and Thursday, August 21.  They are tentatively scheduled to work over I-75 South on the evenings of Tuesday, August 12; Thursday, August 14; and Monday, August 18.  Should weather or unforeseen circumstances delay this work, it will be rescheduled to take place the next possible

West Tennessee Weekly Construction August 7-13, 2014

CARROLL COUNTY, SR-105:  Resurfacing work will cause temporary lane closures in both directions daily, from the Gibson County line to State Route 190.

CARROLL COUNTY, SR-424:  Bridge Replacement on State Route 424 over an overflow and the Big Sandy River.  Wednesday August 06 through Wednesday August 13:  A signal system is being utilized and will reduce traffic to one lane with a 10’ lane restriction and there is a 40’ length restriction for vehicles during construction.

CARROLL COUNTY, SR-424:  Bridge Replacement on State Route 424 over the Rutherford Fork Obion River and overflows.  Wednesday August 06 through Wednesday August 13:  A signal system is being utilized and will reduce traffic to one lane with a 9.5’ lane restriction.

CROCKETT COUNTY, SR-20 (US-412)Friday August 8, 9:00 a. m.-4:00 p. m.: Materials & Test will be coring the roadway between Chestnut Bluff Road and Main Street in Friendship.  One lane will remain open, in each direction.
