Grant awarded through TDOT’s Aeronautics DivisionNashville, TN—Governor Phil Bredesen announced today that the state will provide an Aeronautics Grant in the amount of $203,512 to the Collegedale Municipal Airport to assist with improvements to that facility.

Tennessee Department of Transportation Commissioner Gerald Nicely explained that the grants are made available through the department’s Aeronautics Division. “This Division administers federal and state funding to assist in the location, design, construction and maintenance of Tennessee’s diverse public aviation system,” reported Nicely. “We are pleased to be able to provide millions of dollars each year for the betterment of our airports through our grant programs.”

Interstate 40 Lane Closure Scheduled For This Weekend

Knoxville, Tenn.—The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) announced Wednesday that the right lane of eastbound Interstate 40 in downtown Knoxville will close Friday, September 29, 2006 at 9:00 p.m. until Sunday, October 1, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. and will include closing the exit ramp to Broadway (S.R. 33). Construction crews will be building a portion of the future exit ramp to Hall of Fame Drive and Broadway.

Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) announced today it will be closing a portion of Interstate 40 for several weekends through the end of the year in order to perform repairs to the Jefferson Street Bridge. The first closure will take place beginning at 7PM this Friday, September 22 and ending at 5AM Monday, September 25.
