Missouri Business Owner Surrenders on Sales Tax Evasion

Nashville, Tenn.The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to the indictment and subsequent surrender of Larry Burt Thornton, age 58, for sales tax evasion. On March 3, Thornton, President of W-S Window & Door Company, Inc., located in St. Louis, MO, turned himself in to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Department. Bond was set at $25,000.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn.The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to the indictment and subsequent surrender of Deborah Daniels, age 53, for sales tax evasion. On Feb. 9, Daniels, owner of the Dipsy Doodle Drive-In, located in Cookeville, Tenn., turned herself in to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department. Bond was set at $1,000.

NASHVILLE- The Tennessee Department of Revenue’s Special Investigations Section conducted the investigation that led to today’s arrest of Christopher Corey Havens, age 40, Nashville, Tenn. Havens was arrested by agents of the Tennessee Department of Revenue. Bond was set at $5,000.

MEMPHIS- The Tennessee Department of Revenue’s Special Investigations Section conducted the investigation that led to the Jan. 28, 2011 arrest of Nita Clinton, age 56, co-owner of Holmes Road Liquor, located at 567 E. Holmes Road, Memphis, Tenn. Clinton was arrested by deputies of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department.

Memphis - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to the Dec. 9, 2010 arrest of Ahmed M. Al Shujaa, age 45, in Shelby County. Al Shujaa, the owner of L&S Grocery, located at 1137 Thomas Street, Memphis, Tenn., and Two Stars, located at 1123 Dellwood Avenue, Memphis, Tenn., was arrested by deputies of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department.
