50 Local Parks and Recreation Fund Grants Announced Across the State 

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Environment and Conservation Commissioner Bob Martineau announced today $6.9 million in Local Parks and Recreation Fund grants to 50 recipients across the state of Tennessee.

Celebration Will Help Commemorate Tennessee State Parks’ 75th Anniversary

MORRISTOWN, Tenn. – The year 2012 marks Tennessee State Parks’ 75th Anniversary, and to help commemorate this important milestone, Panther Creek State Park will host Heritage Day, Saturday, Oct. 20, at the campground pavilion from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

31st Annual Festival Slated for Oct. 19-21

NASHVILLE – The year 2012 marks Tennessee State Parks’ 75th Anniversary, and to help commemorate this important milestone, Long Hunter State Park will host the 31st Annual Pow Wow and Fall Festival Oct. 19-21, featuring Native American artists, musicians, dancers, food and storytellers.  Sponsored by the Native American Indian Association of Tennessee, this time-honored gathering draws thousands of people from across the country and offers a great opportunity to explore a variety of tribal customs and cultural experiences.
