ONLY - An inmate who walked away from the Turney Center Industrial Complex - Annex is back in TDOC custody. Calvin Reeves, 39, was discovered missing from the minimum-security facility in Only, Tennessee just after 9:00 a.m. Thursday morning.

A 28-year employee of the Department of Correction and a Vietnam War Veteran, Officer Morgan was two years away from retirement when an inmate's wife shot and killed him during an escape plot.
NASHVILLE - Recognizing the importance of mentors in the lives of children of incarcerated parents, the Tennessee Department of Correction has awarded a $250,000 grant to the Big Brothers Big Sisters Amachi initiative. The program works to break the intergenerational cycle of crime and incarceration and gives an often forgotten group of children the chance to reach their highest potential.

NASHVILLE - Commissioner Derrick D. Schofield has appointed Dr. Marina Cadreche, Psy.D. to the position of Director of Clinical Services for the Tennessee Department of Correction. Dr. Cadreche previously served as the Department's Mental Health Director. In her new role, she will oversee medical, mental health and substance abuse services provided to the inmate population.
