TDCI Regulatory Boards issue Disciplinary Actions Report for May 2013

NASHVILLE, TN – Please see the following April 2013 disciplinary actions report for Commerce and Insurance. The disciplinary actions report is issued each month by Commerce and Insurance's Division of Regulatory Boards. Each board and commission is empowered by statute to take disciplinary action, including the revocation of licenses and assignment of civil penalties, against license holders found to have violated laws governing their professions.

NASHVILLE, TN – In a coordinated effort, the Tennessee Fire Marshal’s Bomb & Arson Section, Smith County Sheriff's Office, Smith County Fire Investigators and the City of Carthage Fire Department have determined the June 8 fire that killed four people in Carthage, Tenn., at 311 Hull Ave. was accidental.

NASHVILLE, TN – With the weather reaching sweltering temperatures this summer, it is more important than ever to have a working, reliable air conditioning unit. Scam artists know this and use the rise in temperatures to take advantage of consumers by charging for unnecessary repair work.
“Consumers should always check their unit’s warranty before making any repairs,” said Consumer Affairs Director Gary Cordell. “It is important to be an educated consumer and to do your homework before spending any money.”
