KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) Commissioner John Schroer will join Representative Dennis Powers, and other state and local leaders in Union County on Thursday, June 7, to celebrate the recent completion of Phase 1 of the State Route 33 widening project.

The $13 million project has widened a 4.7 mile section of State Route 33 from two lanes to five lanes. This project has increased traffic capacity and improved safety in the area.

Thursday’s event will begin at 11:00 a.m. ET and will last approximately 15 minutes.
