Safety Record Dates Back to January 2006

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development Commissioner James Neeley announced that Flexial Corporation in Cookeville was chosen to receive the Governor’s Award of Excellence for Workplace Safety.

"Flexial Corporation has demonstrated strong commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace," said John Winkler, Administrator of the Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration, who presented the Governor’s Award of Excellence to the company today at the company’s facility located at 1483 Gould Drive in Cookeville. “The evaluation criteria for this award are challenging, and this company has worked extremely hard to meet and exceed the standards the award requires.”

The Governor’s Safety Award honors Tennessee employers and employees who meet a required number of hours without workplace injuries serious enough to cause an employee to miss a day of work or restrict normal job activities. The number of hours required is based on the size of the company.

Flexial Corporation employs 65 people in an engineering and manufacturing company producing products that contain its core technology – welded metal bellows. The facility has qualified for the Governor’s Award by working more than 418,000 hours without a lost time or restricted duty incident. The site’s injury-free record dates back to January 2006.

“Receipt of this award is evidence of the tremendous effort everyone at Flexial consistently puts forth to maintain a safe and healthy place to work. I could not be prouder to be a part of this team,” said David Prowse, Vice President Manufacturing.
